Azula is my first homebred girl, and the daughter of Junem. She is friendly, energetic, and driven, social with people and dogs. She is a tad more independent than the average shepherd, but still very much attuned and affectionate to us, easily warms up to strangers. She is one to push boundaries, and needs a gentle and consistent hand, that is firm when necessary. We noted her fieriness ever since she was a puppy, hence her name!

She loves off leash hikes, swimming and pestering her mother. At cafes Azula settles after a few minutes. She sits by the table with puppy eyes begging for scraps-a behaviour we we’re responsible for. When she doesn’t get anything, she huffs and lays down. When other dogs bark or try to approach her in cafes, she looks at them curiously and eagerly.

Azula needs daily high energy activities, like fetching, running, and wrestling with other dogs. She can be mischievous if her needs are unfullfilled. One time I caught her eating out of her 15kg food bag, she took one look at me and doubled down! Stuck her entire body into the bag and ate faster. When I pulled her out, she looked at me with pure innocence.
