Junem is from Owecarose in SA, and we are very grateful to Pauline and Kelly.
She is incredibly intelligent, devoted and healthy. She is great with dogs, people and children, and is a dog I can take anywhere. We frequent cafes, hikes, dog parks, dog sports and the show ring, often doing several of these in a week. She’s got a fantastic off switch and settles nicely if there’s a few rainy days, but is just as happy going for hikes for hours. She absolutely loves a cuddle, and knows the cue to lie down, rest her head on my pillow when I tap it.
Due to her gorgeous looks, and outstanding training, she has been selected by several photographers as a model, evident from the mountains of professional photos of her.
Health
Junem is tested for breed relevant health issues, and her health certifications are listed below, her hips are tested under the AU/UK scheme and converts roughly to FCI A. She has tested for many optional genetic diseases like Pituitary Dwarfism and Cerebellar Hyperplasia. I think it’s safe to say she’s a healthy dog by “Australian Standard”. More testing will be done as new genetic diseases as they turn up in our breed.
Working Ability
Junem is a versatile sporting dog and excels in all disciplines she trains in, evident by her consistent placing at high and low levels of work. She is trained and titled in Obedience, Rally Obedience, Scentwork, Tricks and Trailing.
She is very eager to please and intelligent; she picks up concepts very quickly. She has a nice level of play and food drive, with a fantastic off switch. She is a dog that can relax at home through a week of rain, but when it stops and training begins again, there is no shortage of enthusiasm.
I am very proud of her achievements, given that she is my first sporting dog, and we have had many bumps along the way, namely COVID, heat and travel barriers, I know in my bones, she could achieve much more.
She had produced puppies active in SAR, Flyball, Man Trailing, Obedience, Scent Work & Agility.
