Despite my love for Swiss Shepherds, I had always been tempted to continue my work with German Shepherds, who were the my “first love” breed. I would put my hands on them whenever I could or examine the temperament, watching from afar. One day at a show I saw what looked to be like a Working Line in the show ring. Intrigued I later approached the owner and struck up conversation. He was Morekos Kraken “Vincent”, he had a fantastic temperament; social, calm and stable. If I ever got another GSD I’d like it to be just like him I thought.
Interestingly at another show I saw yet another WL in the show ring. I was a little bewildered why they were showing WLs and listened intently at their reasoning. To my delight they had the same values and philosophy I did, and the same hopes for the breed. I put my name down on their list for a working puppy, predominantly for my partner at the time, as I already had a young dog who was in training. Unfortunately the timing didn’t work out, but I suppose all things happen for a reason, when I caught news that they were doing a mating with Vincent we simply could not refuse. And so we added another GSD to my pack, a young bi colour girl brimming with drive an potential.
Unfortunately as time went by, things started to go south with my partner who was her predominant handler. Eventually we went our separate ways, but it saddened me to see her potential wasted. After some discussion I was graciously given the opportunity to breed and retain her lines for future use, resulting in our plans with her.
